SciClin — Introduction Packet
"Excellent science becomes transformational science when patient reality is integrated early."
A science advocacy design company dedicated to promoting patient centricity in the preclinical discovery phase — enhancing translation from mechanism to medicine.
Our Purpose

Mission Statement

<1%
of preclinical discoveries successfully become treatments. SciClin is on a mission to change that — by centering the patient in preclinical research to improve translational integrity and human-focused experimental design from the earliest stages of discovery.

Academic Labs Biotech Startups Pharma R&D Teams Translational Institutes Grant-Funded Researchers Universities Patient Advocacy Groups Science Advocacy Groups
The Problem

The Core Disconnect We Target

Basic Scientists Often

  • Rarely interact with patients
  • Lack cross-functional partnerships
  • Optimize for publications over translation
  • Design models disconnected from real disease burden
  • Use endpoints patients may not care about
  • Misunderstand barriers to treatment adoption
  • Fail to build trust with communities
  • Create discoveries that die in the "valley of death"

SciClin Helps Researchers Ask

"Who is this science actually for?"
"How will this change patient lives?"
"What patient reality are we missing?"
"Are we studying clinically meaningful questions?"
"Who do I need to partner with to reimagine my research program?"

Our Belief

The Patient-Centered Discovery Manifesto

Biomedical research has changed the world. But too many discoveries never reach the people they were meant to help. Every year, scientists make groundbreaking advances in the lab — yet only a small fraction successfully translate into meaningful treatments that improve patient lives. Somewhere between bench and bedside, we lose momentum, connection, trust, and impact.

"We believe science becomes more powerful, not less rigorous, when it becomes more human-centered."

Patient-centered discovery is not about replacing scientific excellence with emotion. It is about strengthening science through deeper context, empathy, relevance, and translational awareness.

The future of biomedical innovation must go beyond asking "Can we discover something new?" — and also ask:

  • Will this meaningfully help patients?
  • Does this reflect real human need?
  • Are we designing research with translation in mind?
  • Are we listening early enough?
  • Are we building trust alongside innovation?

We are building a movement to bridge the gap between discovery and patient impact — where science is not only innovative, but deeply connected to the people it exists to serve. Because the future of translational science is not just smarter. It is more human.

Message From Our Founder

DO
Dr. Josly Pierre-Louis Odoom
Founder & CEO · SciClin LLC
Great science shouldn't stop at the lab bench. While few preclinical discoveries ever become treatments, SciClin is here to rewrite that story. We partner with basic and translational scientists to translate complex research into meaningful clinical impact. Through data-driven strategies, robust partnerships, and patient-centered education, we provide the tools to close the gap between discovery and impact.
