Mission Statement
Who We Serve
The Core Disconnect We Target
Basic Scientists Often
- Rarely interact with patients
- Lack cross-functional partnerships
- Optimize for publications over translation
- Design models disconnected from real disease burden
- Use endpoints patients may not care about
- Misunderstand barriers to treatment adoption
- Fail to build trust with communities
- Create discoveries that die in the "valley of death"

The Patient-Centered Discovery Manifesto
Biomedical research has changed the world. But too many discoveries never reach the people they were meant to help. Every year, scientists make groundbreaking advances in the lab — yet only a small fraction successfully translate into meaningful treatments that improve patient lives. Somewhere between bench and bedside, we lose momentum, connection, trust, and impact.
Patient-centered discovery is not about replacing scientific excellence with emotion. It is about strengthening science through deeper context, empathy, relevance, and translational awareness.
The future of biomedical innovation must go beyond asking "Can we discover something new?" — and also ask:
- Will this meaningfully help patients?
- Does this reflect real human need?
- Are we designing research with translation in mind?
- Are we listening early enough?
- Are we building trust alongside innovation?
We are building a movement to bridge the gap between discovery and patient impact — where science is not only innovative, but deeply connected to the people it exists to serve. Because the future of translational science is not just smarter. It is more human.
